Schooners - Tall Ships

Labor Day in Gloucester means Tall Ship racing as the old Schooners were the general type work boats for the off shore fisheries. These are some examples from the 2007 race for the mayors cup.

As a former skipper of Tall Ships I can appreciate their beauty and grace underway as well as the skills in handling of the vessel.

There is also no experience that quite equates with being up in the rig of a ship underway, nor at the helm in a full storm strength gale.
